Should I Buy A Hot Tub?
Making the decision to buy a hot tub is a big one. It’s not something you do every day, after all. Your lifestyle can have a significant impact on the decision to purchase a hot tub. Before making the decision, ask yourself these following questions:
- Where in my backyard will I install a hot tub?
- Will the hot tub be for my entire family, or just for me?
- Will I benefit from fewer aches and pains, better sleep and reduced stress?
- Will I enjoy the convenience of access to hydromassage in the comfort of my own home?
- Will my family benefit from the additional family time in the spa?

What Size Hot Tub Should I Buy?
The size of your hot tub should reflect your intended use for it. Will it cater to the needs of the entire family? Is it meant just for you and your significant other? Or do you enjoy hosting elaborate backyard parties? Your lifestyle and layout of your backyard can help you determine if you would like to invest in a smaller or larger hot tub.

How Often Should I Clean My Hot Tub?
How often and in what manner you clean your hot tub will depend on two factors: how often the spa is used and the manufacturer.
- Test your hot tub water with test strips once or twice a week.
- Treat your hot tub water accordingly based on the readings from the test strips.
- Clean the filter every two weeks with water from the hose.
- Drain, clean and fill the hot tub once every three to four months.

How Often Can I Clean My Filter?
A clean and functioning filter is key to an operational filtration system, as it catches and removes dirt and debris, keeping the water clean and free of impurities. We recommend rinsing the filter every two weeks with fresh water from the hose or kitchen sink. You can also use this time to spray it down with a filter cleaner and then continue to rinse.
Filter cleaning nozzles are available that can be attached to the end of a hose, which can help water to better reach the nooks and crannies of your filter. Soak your filter overnight in a bucket filled with water and a small amount of filter cleaner every two months to remove deep-down debris. We recommend replacing your hot tub filter annually to ensure a fully functional filtration system.
How Often Can I Drain My Hot Tub?
How often you change your hot tub water can depend greatly on how often the spa is used, the quality of water used to fill it and how well the water is maintained. As a general rule of thumb, we recommend draining, cleaning and refilling the hot tub every three to four months for an optimal operation.
What Is Hydrotherapy?

Is it safe to use a swim spa when pregnant?
While regular exercise is great during most pregnancies, in general, you should always speak with your doctor before investing in a swim spa that you will be heavily using while pregnant, or before using your existing spa. The main concern is the adjustment of your body temperature when submerged.
Your doctor may recommend lowering the temperature of your swim spa, only going in for short sessions, or avoiding it altogether. In general, swimming while pregnant can be a therapeutic way to reduce joint pain and get some exercise in, so long as the temperature and overall activity are deemed safe and monitored by a healthcare professional!
What is the difference between a hot tub and a swim spa?
These are very different products, even though they are often used interchangeably!
- A hot tub will be much smaller than a swim spa.
- Hot tubs and swim spas have quite a bit in common in terms of features, such as seating, jets, control systems, etc. However, swim spas boast larger tank areas and very high-powered jet systems.
- Swim spas tend to cost a little bit more, mostly because the system itself is quite large.
- Hot tubs, depending on the model, tend to offer more seating options than swim spas.
Can swim spas be used year-round?
This depends on the climate you live in and how cold it gets. However, most swim spas have top-tier technology for heating and cooling, so you can enjoy your swim spa year-round in most cases.
What temperature should my hot tub be?
The temperature of your hot tub water will depend on a number of factors, including your age, health, personal preference, and climate. As a general rule of thumb, we suggest that most hot tub owners maintain a temperature of 98 to 102°F within their hot tub.
Please keep in mind that this temperature may differ based on your climate, health, or age. For older children, the temperature should be kept between 94 to 98°F with soaks ranging from 5-15 minutes at a time, keeping in mind that both infants and toddlers should never go in the hot tub. Can swim spas help you lose weight?

Generally, we recommend soaking in a hot tub for anywhere from 15-30 minutes, depending on the factors stated above.
